Racquetball friends! We've updated the rest of the season tournament events, and will lay out some sneak peeks / things in the words coming for 2024.
First off, the calendar is always available in the top menu. But here's a guided tour:
Board member, Treasurer, Racquetball Rockstar Maddie Melendez will be hosting the Stratton Woods Spring Fling April 26-28th in Herndon, Virginia.
Shortly after, Slemo Warigon told us our neighbors to the North will be hosting the Wintergreen Classic May 4-5 at SPRFC in Severna Park, Maryland. This is an awesome venue, so go check it out!
Back in Virginia, June 6th-9th, Malia Bailey and her crew will be hosting the amazingly talented Ladies of the LPRT at their season finale: LPRT Battle at the Beach at the Greenbrier North YMCA Wellness & Racquetball Center in Chesapeake.
Then, dynamic TD duo and WOR queens Amie Brewer/Carrie Hoeft will be hosting the very well attended Capital City Championship June 28-30th. That will cap off the traditional racquetball seasons....
But let's get these events next season on your calendars!
July 11-14th, Danny Rodriguez and the Liberty University Racquetball Team will run the racquetball portion of the Virginia Commonwealth Games at LaHaye Recreational Center in Lynchburg, VA. This is a crucial tournament for the success of racquetball in Central Virginia and we encourage your participation.
August 23-25th, Amie Brewer and Nick Czatt will again be celebrating the life and impact of Paul Newcomb at the Paul Newcomb Memorial tournament at Virginia's fastest courts: Courtside West in Richmond.
The weather cools down, but things start heating up for Racquetball!
September 7th-8th will be World Wide Racquetball Day. Expect to see small shootouts popping up around the state that weekend! Looking for something bigger? Ariel Garcia has you covered September 6th-8th where he will host the 2nd Bolivia Open. Enjoy Bolivian food, culture, and some great racquetball with an anticipated 100+ of your closest friends!
October will be a busy month with the Capitol Classic October 11-14th at Severna Park, MD and the Ray Williams Memorial at American Family in Richmond is being scheduled (TBD), and ... dramatic pause...
the return of Virginia State Singles and Doubles October 25-27th at Worldgate Athletic Club & Spa in Herndon, VA!
That's right, you heard it here first! We were hoping to get it scheduled this spring, but we wanted to make sure we had enough time to plan and everyone else had enough time to plan make this a special event! More details to come, but there's already a lot of thought and energy going into this, so make sure to block your calendars!
